The appointment booking system shows real-time provider availability with smart scheduling that accounts for appointment type, duration requirements, provider specialization, and patient history. Patients receive automated reminders via their preferred channel — email, SMS, or both — with one-click confirmation and easy rescheduling. The platform features secure document upload with automatic OCR for insurance card scanning and document categorization, encrypted patient-provider messaging with read receipts and file attachments, a provider dashboard with patient history timelines and care plan tracking, prescription renewal requests with pharmacy integration, a telehealth module for virtual visits with built-in video calling, and detailed audit logging for compliance reporting. All data is encrypted at rest using AES-256 and in transit via TLS 1.3, with role-based access controls ensuring protected health information is only visible to authorized care team members.
